We have posted an announcement from big carriers lately about surcharges that had temporarily increased. Now UPS also joined the other announcing their increase for surcharges on international services.
Effective April 12, 2020，UPS will continue service amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak to support the demand and needs of their customers. Their goal is to ensure businesses and customers are able to meet their shipping needs as the demand for air cargo capacity increases.
UPS Peak Charges
As previously announced in the website, a Peak surcharge will apply to shipments from China mainland or Hong Kong SAR to North America and Europe regions, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and United Kingdom to name a few, effective April 5, 2020. However, Effective April 12, 2020 until further notice, the amount of this Peak Surcharge will increase and additional Peak Surcharges will be apply to shipments with other origins and/or destinations, as market conditions have continued to evolve with the ongoing coronavirus situation.
Peak Surcharges are subject to change and Peak Periods may be extended or otherwise changed. UPS had encouraged shippers to continue to checkwww.ups.com/peaksurcharge for updates prior to tendering shipments.
Peak Surcharges will apply to packages shipped during the specified Peak Periods for the origins, destinations, and service levels and in the amounts set forth below. Peak Surcharges apply in addition to all other applicable Charges.
A.Peak Surcharge - Applied to shipments from China Mainland or Hong Kong SAR to the US
The Peak Surcharge that will apply to any shipment originating from China Mainland or Hong Kong SAR to the U.S. will apply from April 5, 2020 until further notice for the Service Levels and Peak Periods set forth below. The Peak Surcharge for shipments to the US will be applied as a rate per pound based upon the billable weight of the shipment.

B.Peak Surcharge - Applied to international shipments from all origins (except China Mainland and Hong Kong SAR) to all destinations
The Peak Surcharge that will apply to any international shipment from all origins (except China Mainland and Hong Kong SAR) to all destinations will apply from April 12, 2020 until further notice for the Service Levels and Peak Periods set forth below. The Peak Surcharge will be applied as a rate per pound based upon the billable weight of the shipment. Peak Surcharges applicable to shipments originating from China Mainland or Hong Kong SAR are set forth in section A above.
Peak Period (Inclusive of starting date and ending dates and Applicable Peak Surcharge ($/lb)
